Hey,

Someone got me some japanese coals yesterday, each long bit has 3 segments to break off into, yesterday i tried about 1 and a half but they didnt smoke as good as quick light discs.

Has anyone got any idea of how many of the japs i should put on? and a rough idea of how long it should last

Greatly appreciated

Can you get us some pics of your foil/screen, also how you pack it matters, pics of your bowl would help too. What I usually do is start with a couple of segments of jap coals, once it gets going, I take one segment off, break it in half then put it back on so it doesn't get harsh. It all depends on your bowl, packing style, if you use a glass or foil screen (how many layers of foil, whether it is HD or not, and hole placement). There are a lot of factors involved in getting it to smoke right. I don't know anything about Dubai tobacco so I have no experience with that to whether it might be a factor. Just give more details in your setup.

i use japanese coals all the time, i usually break one stick in half and set them on the outside of the bowl and it smokes great, make sure when u light them that u blow off all the silver coating on the side ur putting on the foil(the rest will fall after u smoke for a bit) and the japanese coals u used are they called Easy Lights or Diamante cause i normally use the Easy lights and the silver coating comes off faster and they light quicker too, when i use the Diamante ones they take longer to get started and the silver coating is really stuck on their and takes longer to burn off and produces less heat so u get less smoke
