Is My Phunnel Packed Properly?

Just wanna know if my phunnel is packed properly and the holes are right on the foil :

It is hard to see because of the camera angle, but I would pack it with maybe a LITTLE more shisha.

personally, i would say the hole in the foil over the actual hole in the funnel is too large, i would put more shisha, and i would make larger holes over the shisha.

No, you leave the hole in the middle of the funnel for the air to flow down the stem. But you also want airflow more so through the shisha than directly down the center hole. Which is why the scalli mod (search scalli mod) was created. So essentially make larger holes over the shisha and smaller hole(s) over the center of the funnel if you are not using a mod.

Okay.. First off, I would say more tobacco.... and it kind of looks likes you packed it down a little... No need to do that!

Also, just ditch the hole in the middle and make your normal holes bigger (tooth pick size)

Too big of a hole on top of the phunnel hole will mean less airflow the rest of the tobacco, so ditch that. More tobacco is needed... probably 5g to 10g tops.

This is the way Eric aka Tangiers showed me to poke the holes.

Works like a charm. There are three holes above the funnel. Also, if you're smoking Tangiers, put more shisha.

Yea thats how I poke the holes when I smoke Tangiers.. But any other rbrand I do it the way of my diagram.

I just realized I've never smoked anything besides Tangiers in my funnel bowls. I get great smokes with my regular bowls and I think I would just waste shisha if I used any other shisha in my funnel. I don't have much luck smoking Tangiers in any other kind of bowl though.

when I smoke anything out of my funnel bowl even tangiers, I never poke any holes above the funnel, I feel that it lets too much air into the base. I used to poke holes over the funnel, but I then tried it without the holes and it smoked better so now I don't poke a hole/holes above the funnel.

here's how I pack my phunnel with a little mod hint.

start off with my beautiful red phunnel.



The mod that I did to my phunnel to create better airflow. This way you don't have to poke a hole in the middle and the tinfoil won't get sucked to the phunnel top. (this happens to some people, and some people it doesn't)



Here's the phunnel packed with Smiley's Lemon / Peach. Pack the bowl to the top of the phunnel or a little less.



Put the tinfoil on, don't forget, shiny side down. I use a large piece and stretch the tinfoil as tightly as I can.



Here's what I use to poke the holes. Thicker then a toothpick and nice and pointy.



Last step, poke the holes, this is how I do it. Take the poker and poke the hole to the bottom of the bowl. No holes in the middle.



And finally, smoke it!

Is that normal tin foil? I use normal cooking tin foil....

yeah its reynolds regular foil. the hookah foil you can buy that is pre-cut into sheets isn't big enough for the phunnel

a professional grinder. like what you use to cut tile and shit. just put it up to the phunnel and cut a few slits. I notice a difference because before I woul dhave to poke a hole in the middle because my tinfoil got sucked down to my phunnel top. so with the slits, no hole(s) in the middle, less oxygen = bigger hits. at least I think so.
