got my saharasmoke.com hookah today!

Recommended Posts

Very Thorough post.  Makes me scared to receive my 14.99 eBay Hookah!  If yours came like this wonder what mine will be like.  My expectations arent that high though.  That grommet thing is a piss off cause the hookah will look all wonky now when you use it instead of curvy and smooth.  I dont kow what I'd do since i dont even have a Hookah yet.

Sorry to hear about your poor expierience with hookah, don't get discouraged.
Now you said your session was poor and lacked flavor and smoke density. Could this be just because it is your first time smoking and arn't sure how to set everything up properly, or have you smoked in the past and have expierience and this was just faulty equipment? But like I said don't give up now ;)
As for that tray, I have a hookah with a tray that fits the same way. I don't really like it but yes, that is just a style some companies use.
Also, don't feel obligated to keep this hookah if anything is wrong with it and you think you can just live with it. I know it will be hard to send in your hookah and wait for another one, but if it means getting a nice air-tight properly working hookah, i think its definately worth the wait. You shouldn't have to live with a defective hookah when you paid good money.
Good luck with whatever you choose, and Happy Smoking! :)

why are you even wondering if you should call??
CALL! dang man if someone who got a piece of crap like you did doesn't call no one will...if they think its ok to peddle junk like that because no one will notice you gotta show em someone noticed. If i were you i'd tell them what was wrong, tell them you expect them to send proper replacements OVERNIGHT because you have waited long enough, and don't take any BS.

It's my usual approach and it works. I got Southsmoke.com to send a call tag for the crap they sent me and a full refund. You may not make friends, but I'll bet you get results...companies survive on word of mouth and right now the word isn't good.

i've smoked hookah for about 4 years now. not on a constiant basis, but
this smoke was just....blah. at this point. i just want new/fresh
mouthtips, a proper fitting gasket, and the advertised hookah-hookah
maassel. i think im just going to order another hose anyhow, so
hoopefully that will seal better and be airtight.

Mr. Mahmoud Badawi, thank you for such a generous offer. however, i

their mistakes before i go and ask for an entire refund. however, if
they fail to please a customer, i will gladly take your offer. thanks
again and i will keep you and your company in mind for my future

In my humble opinion,  they should have just replaced the entire
package with shipping included.  Hookah-Shisha has a guarantee
that if you're not ABSOLUTELY satisfied with your purchase,  as
long as it hasn't been used,  they'll replace or refund your
order.  It seems as if SaharaSmoke is getting off pretty easy
here.  You should have demanded a refund,  imo

I would tell the the thing is defective and has poor craftsmanship...
Send them the pictures you posted of the shoddy metal work causing the torn gaskets.  Don't let them convince you there is nothing wrong by ending you a bunch of cheap replacement parts when the real problem is crappy workmanship that shouldn never have made it past their quality control people.
Remind them its their junk and you paid good money for it.

so basically this is what im going to be doing:

once i recieve the new gasket and i find that this one tears as well
because of the defect on the stem, i will be contacting saharasmoke.com
and will tell them they will replace the stem or i'd like a 100% refund
including shipping. if they decide to replace the stem, im gonna demand
something in return because if at chance 2, they mess up, i bleieve i
am entitled to some sort of compenstation.  how does 250g tubs of
all the flavors of hookah-hookah maassel sound? =)

im not the type of person to go and tell a manufacturer to take their
stuff back at the slightest flaw. i'll give them a chance, but after
that, i will put my foot down. and besides, if i put up all over the
web not to order from saharasmoke, they will probably feel the effects.

either or...waiting on chance 2...

You are going to still have that problem with the stem unless you have
a few tools to fix that bulge. If you must live with that buldge at
least file down the sharp edges sot the gasket will not tear.

jhegro.....we're talking about a $54 hookah here,  NOT hundreds of
dollars.  Once you received that crap,  you should have
called them up and demanded a refund,  on the basis of a very
frustrating purchasing experience.

Dealing with a problem indirectly,  such as threatening to post
negative reviews all over the web,  isn't dealing directly with
the problem.  You have to be DIRECT with these people.  If
you give them the impression that you're easy to take advantage
of,  then they're GOING to take advantage of you,  even over
something as cheap as a $54 hookah.

Well,  so you weren't direct with them.  Instead of getting a
new rubber grommet, knowing that the stem is going to rip it,  you
should have just asked them to send you a new stem,  and ask if
they'd pay for shipping on the defective stem.  You know in your
own mind,  just as I know sitting here at my monitor reading about
this ordeal,  that a replacement stem will take care of the
problem.  If you call them up right now and explain this to
them,  and demand that they send you a new stem,  they're
going to have to send you a new stem.

I just think you handled the problem ALL wrong from the get-go.
You have to be nice with these people over the phone,  yet you
also have to let them know that you're not a customer that's going to
take any crap from them either.  Once they know that you're not
going to settle for cheap replacements that aren't going to take care
of the problem,  then they're going to be forced to take more
direct action to settle your dispute.  You should call them up
RIGHT NOW,  and say that you changed your mind and realised that a
rubber grommet isn't going to take care of the problem,  you
should tell them that you want a replacement stem,  and that you
want them to pay for the shipping of that stem an for the return
shipping on the defective stem.  If they say no,  well then
that's when you say:

"Well then,  F*** YOU!!!"

And you threaten to call the Online Better Business Bureau and the
District Attorney in your area and complain about "False Advertising"
on the internet.

I guarantee you they'll send you a replacement stem and pay for shipping both ways.

Granted,  I don't think you're going to have to go thru all that
with SaharaSmoke,  because I believe they are a reputable business
who aim to please the customer no matter what,  even if it costs
them a little money to cover their own mistake.

jhegro,  you have to be more direct with these people and tell
them EXACTLY what you believe the problem is,  and what you think
they should do about it

mathazar, you are exactly correct, it is a 54 dollar hookah, not a 1500
dollar item. As a previous small business owner, i can understand the
frustrations on both sides. however, as u stated, it is only a 54
dollar hookah, not one of those 1000+ dollar ones. you SHOUDLNT expect
perfection.  as for bad mouthing them online, i've found that with any
internet based business it can be very detrimental to sales. either
way, it seems to me we could argue both points of being a consumer and
a company. so i say we dont discuss it any further and just keep
talking about hookahs!

anyhow, i just spoke to saharasmoke once again after i reset my grommet
and found that it tore ANOTHER hole in it. because of this, i knew it
was a quality control issue, and they too said it themselves. they are
now sending out a new stem and a return shipping label in it as well.
that is enough for me. at this point i am satisified enough with
saharasmoke. i am pleased with the way they have gone and resolved my
problems. however, i probabaly wont be ordering much hardware from them
anymore, but i feel relativily safe ordering coals or maassel from
them. so im just going to sit here and wait for my packages.

wyteboy,  don't make the mistake of getting 3kings,  I
promise you'll be disappointed.  If you get a BUNCH of
anything, make it Golden Coals!!!  You can get 3 boxes
(100 each) of Golden Coals at Hookah-Shisha for $36.95

Remember......3kings will ruin the flavor of your smoke by imparting
too much charcoal flavor into the smoke.  Golden Coals will NOT.

Just watchin-out for ya,  dude

From what I gather from what wyteboy says he likes 3 kings.  If he
likes it then oh well. As far as the exploding goes, if you light it
with the tongs then thats your own fault since most of us in here knows
what they do. I never have a problem because i just drop them in my pot
and light it over a gas stove.  If they do pop its in the pot and
I have no worries. The popping ceases when they are well lit.
