Hammerhead
So both my bowl grommet and base grommet have torn and the base grommet is useless. I hate to place an order for new ones since the hookah is brand new and I just placed an order a few days ago for more shisha. Any suggestions for a temporary or permanent fix. I have the mini mya acrylic. I did a search and found wet paper towels work for the bowl but any other ideas especially for the base so I can use it? Thanks in advance. cafesaden
you can make a base grommet. go to the craft store and buy one of those sheets of like foam type stuff. not the really squish one the harder one that has some give. cut it out nicely using ur base as a stencil. some electrical tape if not thick enough. i broke my base grommet like 6 months ago and have been using this since. I emailed MYA and they asked me to try Hookah Shisha Central first and if they don't take care of it Mya said they will. So I just shot off an email to Hookah Shisha. Great customer service from Mya with a quick response and willingness to help. I love it. In the mean time I do have sheets of the foam and will try that. Thanks for the help! azcoyote
I use cloth grommets all the time. They are perfectly adjustable, almost free and easy to make. Take an old cotton shirt or some denim from the legs you cut off your jeans. Lay it out so you cut a strip on the bias. This is 45 degrees across the square weave. This allow the strip to conform to curves better. About a 1.5" strip works fine for the jug/stem grommet. Wet down the strip and wrap it around the stem. Test fit. Adjust length for a tight fit. You are done.
Hammerhead
Hookah Shisha Central was all over this! They are sending new grommets in the mail today. Quick follow up and awesome personal customer service! Until the grommets get here I have a few different methods to try. Thanks for all the help!
