Its a pretty sturdy material which is only thought to be weak cause it looks like glass. the mnh bowls must have thin walls or something. But still it should be alright. All these bowls are hand made and are pretty thick glass. If you would send me a picture of the bowl so i can see the crack and i can make the decision of it being a defected bowl i will gladly send you a new one. It's bigger than the biggest regular bowl I've ever seen...Smoked for 2 1/2 hours today, used 2 sets of 4 coals, some recycled Smiley's from a 1 hour session with a normal bowl last night, with some new Blackberry sprinkled on the top, still going strong at the end...Opened it up, tobacco still gooey and only black on the topHUGE clouds too... I enjoy my mnh glass phunnel.i think its worth the 7 extra bucks, but i'd rec the next size up if you are going ot smoke with more than one person.i think it's WELL worth it. I cited MNH specifically because they carry all three sizes which prevents them from being confused on the phunnel sizes which other vendors have been known to do.
